This document will be used to show built in and user defined functions.

There are dozens of built in functions of php, such as date(), time(), and rand().
The first two are self explanatory, and the third will generate a random integer. These work by reading data that the server it is hosted on is providing to the PHP script

A user defined function could be something like capturing the date and time that you are reading this document, and then telling you your lucky number
